& Wildcat Grad Parties
Most of our Delhi work happens on the water. Lake Delhi properties are built for weekends with people in them — decks, walkouts, yards that run down toward the shoreline — and almost none of them own seating for forty. That is the call we get. Family arriving Friday, twenty more on Saturday, and six folding chairs in the garage.
We are about ten miles up the road, roughly fifteen minutes from the lake. One trailer covers the whole problem: 100 folding chairs, 20 six-foot tables, and chair dollies so nobody is carrying stacks by hand up a slope. Pick it up yourself for $250, or we deliver it and come back for it for $350.
The other half of the Delhi calendar is graduation. Maquoketa Valley High School sits right here in Delhi, which means Wildcat families from Delhi, Earlville and the surrounding countryside are all throwing open houses inside the same three weekends. Late May and early June go first every year. If your grad walks this spring, get the date on the calendar early — we only have so many trailers.
If you have reserved a shelter at Silver Lake Park or you are using the pavilion at Delhi City Park, the seating still has to come from somewhere. Delaware County takes shelter reservations from mid-April through mid-October, and a shelter that looks plenty big on a quiet Tuesday fills up fast when sixty people show up with coolers.
Delhi is a town of about 420 people. A decent-sized graduation party doubles the population of the block. You should be spending that day with your family, not driving around the county collecting folding chairs from four different basements.
Delivering to a lake property has its own quirks. Some of the drives off the shoreline roads are tight, a few are gravel, and some are steep enough that you want the trailer parked up top with the dollies doing the work down the hill. Tell us what we are pulling into when you book and we will plan the drop around it instead of finding out on the day.
